Goffredo Haus

Musiche per poche parti, composed by G. Haus between 1974 and 1988, are short pieces where tonal and serial approach are mixed. Harmony and counterpoint are mainly tonal, whereas dynamics and rhythmical patterns are treated according to serialism rules. In most pieces, canonical dodecaphonic series are interpolated to their derivations (retrogradation, inversion, etc.); on the contrary, dynamical and rhythmical patterns come from a segmentation of the original series into sub-series in order to respect tonal areas.
